Professional learning communities (PLCs) may vary in how they go about working together as a group. In this case, participants in the PLC may not even be from the same school as the PLC is being conducted to meet, in part, Competencies 1 and 2 of the Florida K-12 Reading Endorsement. In this introductory session, the facilitator should discuss the following topics:
- Roles and responsibilities of participants (e.g., facilitator, recorder, timekeeper) and whether these roles will rotate among participants from session to session
- Ground rules
- Time allocated to each session
- Schedule for completing the sessions
Please note that the Introductory Session may be combined with Session 1. The PowerPoint file is the same in case the facilitator would like to facilitate these as a combined session.
