Session 1: MTSS for Reading Success

Session 1 is designed to meet the indicators of Competencies 5 of the Florida Reading Endorsement that pertain trough a culminating practicum, demonstrate knowledge of components of reading, as well as assessments and data analysis, to implement a comprehensive research-based reading plan of instruction for all students. In this session, educators will have discussion on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RtI) and determine the difference between MTSS and RtI Models. Additionally, Module One will offer an opportunity to create a visual representation of their understanding from this module’s readings.

Session: Four basic components of MTSS

In this session, educators will determine basic components MTSS: a) Multi-Tiered Levels of Prevention and Support, b) Evidence-Based Programs with High-Quality Instruction, c) Ongoing Assessment, and d) Data-Based Decision Making and Problem Solving. Before introducing the topic, participants will take a pre-assessment to check their knowledge on this topic. After the presentation, participants will take a post-assessment to check their understanding. They will also create a visual to reflect their understanding of the topic.
