Nikki Arrington, Ph.D.
C. Nikki Arrington, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and core faculty of the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University. Her research focuses on the intersection of brain, reading and executive control. She studies how the brain changes as we learn to read and how we can use neuroscience to help people with reading difficulties like dyslexia. Her research and scholarly activities have been supported by various organizations, including the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the Oak Foundation, and the National Center for Neuromodulation for Rehabilitation.
Dr. Arrington is also the Director of the Brain Analysis of Reading and Cognition (B.A.R.C.) Lab which leverages the synergy of neuroimaging (structural and functional MRI) and non-invasive neuromodulation (TMS) to map the neural architecture of the human mind. The BARC Lab's mission is to uncover the causal mechanisms linking executive control and linguistic processing, identifying how the brainโs regulatory networks support fluent reading and information synthesis across the lifespan.
