Dr. Brooke Solz is an Assistant in Research at FCRR, where she collaborates on initiatives associated with the Florida Department of Education and The Village. Dr. Solz's professional journey began as an elementary school teacher, followed by various roles within PreK-12 education, including school-based literacy coach, district reading specialist, and assistant principal. Prior to joining FCRR, she served as a School Improvement Specialist with the Florida Department of Education's Bureau of School Improvement. In addition to her research role at FCRR, Dr. Solz is an adjunct instructor in the School of Teacher Education at Florida State University. Her primary research interests encompass rural education, effective school leadership, pre-service teacher preparation in reading, and best practices for developing foundational reading skills in all students.
