How do I calcuate the EI Index
1. |
Count the number of students at “Strategic” or “Intensive” at Assessment 1 (11 students) |
2. |
Count the number of students who moved from “Strategic” at Assessment 1 to “Initial” at Assessment 2 (1 student) |
3. |
Count the number of students who moved from “Intensive” at Assessment 1 to “Strategic” or “Initial” at
Assessment 2 (2 students) |
4. |
Add the total number of students from steps 2 and 3 (1 + 2 = 3) |
5. |
3/11 or 27% of the students increased their performance from Assessment 1 to Assessment 2.
|
If students begin the year as “Strategic” and increase to “Initial” at Assessment 2, the additional interventions provided and their implementation were effective.
|
If students begin the year as “Intensive” and increase to “Strategic” at Assessment 2, the additional
interventions provided and their implementation were effective.
|
If students maintained their current level of instruction or drop to a lower level of instruction, the additional interventions or their implementation were not effective and should be modified or changed.
